Forever Is A Very Long Time

How long would it take to gather all the stars?
Or would you rather try to count the feathers
On the birds that sing?
How long would it take to count each grain of sand beside the sea?

And if you calculated every drop of moisture falling free
Then you would just be starting God's eternity
Forever is a very long time

Now our human minds can't comprehend what eternity's all about
But I want to spend forever with Him, though I can't figure it out

How much time would it require to add up each grassy spire?
Could you count the leaves on every maple tree?
How long would it take to find the home of every honey bee?

And if you counted to ten million, only one per century
Then you would just be starting God's eternity
Forever is a very long time
