Purple Was The Robe

Purple was the robe He wore
In Pilate’s judgment hall
They mocked and taunted Jesus more
But He didn’t try to stop them at all,
No He didn’t try to stop them at all
My Jesus climbed that lonely hill,
They called it Calvary
That’s were my Savior’s blood was spilled
To pay the price for me
Purple was the robe He wore
In Pilate’s judgment hall
They mocked and taunted Jesus more
But He didn’t try to stop them at all,
No He didn’t try to stop them at all

Crimson was the blood that flowed
From His head, His hands, His side
The greatness of God’s love was told
When the Lord of life was crucified,
When the Lord of life was crucified
My Jesus climbed that lonely hill,
They called it Calvary
That’s were my Savior’s blood was spilled
To pay the price for me
Crimson was the blood that flowed
From His head, His hands, His side
The greatness of God’s love was told
When the Lord of life was crucified,
When the Lord of life was crucified

Blackened was the sky that day
The sun refused to shine
Nature turned her face away
And the penalty He bore was mine
Yes the penalty He bore was mine
My Jesus climbed that lonely hill,
They called it Calvary
That’s were my Savior’s blood was spilled
To pay the price for me
Blackened was the sky that day
The sun refused to shine
Nature turned her face away
And the penalty He bore was mine
Yes the penalty He bore was mine
Yes the penalty He bore was mine
