When His Kingdom Comes

The world we know is growin’ old
It won’t be long until I’m told
We’ll walk those golden streets up there
Fulfilled prophecies abound
The last day sings are all around
Soon we’ll meet our Savior in the air

Then we’ll celebrate God’s mighty victory
We’ll enjoy the fruit of heaven’s jubilee
We’ll join in singing praises through eternity
When His kingdom comes

We’ll wave a last goodbye to this old wicked world
We’ll march into the city through those gates of pearl
Beneath the banner of Mt. Zion’s flag unfurled
When His kingdom comes

I know you’ll want to be there when He gets here
I know you’ll want to watch Him wake the dead
I know you’ll want to rise to immortality
And meet the One Whose precious blood was shed

No more trials to take our happiness away
Beauty far beyond what any words can say
Walking with the Lord forever and a day
When His kingdom comes

All the disappointments will be in the past
Happy to believe that heaven’s home at last
Life so full it’s even more than we could ask
When His kingdom comes
