Why We Celebrate

Christmas comes just once a year
With pretty trees and holly leaves
And greetings filled with cheer
Beyond the mistletoe and fancy bows
We know the hillsides rang
When angels sang so long, long ago

Jesus is why we celebrate
He is the reason our hearts overflow with joy
It’s not the tinsel or colored lights
It’s Messiah’s birth on that glorious night

A manger for His bed, an angel choir led shepherds to His side
To worship Him in Bethlehem, on that wondrous night
